Photons Energy Limited is a 100 percent Tanzanian owned company operating two connected businesses. We are an engineering, procurement and construction contractor, designing, supplying, installing, commissioning and maintaining solar photovoltaic, battery storage and hybrid power systems across Tanzania, Zanzibar and East Africa. And we are a distributor of renewable energy equipment, holding official distribution rights for five international brands and stock in three cities.

We carry only manufacturers with verifiable global track records. In a market where grey imports fail quietly and warranties turn out to be worthless, the name on the box

is the client’s real guarantee. It is also why we can stand behind what we install: we chose the equipment, we hold it in stock, and we maintain it afterwards.

Founded in 2012 and incorporated in March 2014, we are registered with the Contractors Registration Board as a Specialist Contractor, Class Two, in renewable energy installation. We operate from three offices, employ more than sixty people, and hold official distribution rights for five international brands.

The company is registered with contractors registration Board CRB with the registration number SPE3/704/2017

Our work runs from a single water pump on a smallholding to a 920 kilowatt peak agro processing factory at Karagwe and the synchronisation of 32 megawatts of generation into the Zanzibar national grid. We also operate through a partner office in Somalia with Hayle Barise Energy Solutions. Our work also extends to clean solar cooking, replacing charcoal and firewood in institutional kitchens.

Through our alliance with CRDB Bank we can offer clients up to 100 percent project financing, in Tanzanian shillings, so that capital cost is no longer the reason a good project does not happen.
